Sydney's Trusted Radiator Repairs & Cooling System Specialists.

Overheating stops fast with honest cooling system diagnosis — from coolant leaks and radiator replacement to European water pump and thermostat repairs.

An overheating engine can cause catastrophic damage in minutes. West Ryde Service Centre has been diagnosing and repairing cooling systems across Sydney since 1981 — from everyday radiators to the complex thermal management systems in European luxury vehicles. Every job starts with a proper pressure test and diagnostic to find the actual cause, not just the symptom. Whether it's a cracked radiator, a failed water pump, a stuck thermostat, or a coolant leak you can't trace, we'll find it, fix it, and have you back on the road with a cooling system you can trust.

Our Radiator & Cooling System Services.

West Ryde Service Centre

Radiator Repair & Replacement

Cracked, leaking or corroded radiators repaired or replaced with quality units matched to your vehicle. We pressure-test before recommending replacement — if a repair will hold, we'll tell you.

West Ryde Service Centre

Cooling System Pressure Testing

A full pressure test of the entire cooling system reveals leaks the eye can't see — we pump it to cap pressure and inspect every hose, joint and seam. Free with any cooling system diagnosis.

West Ryde Service Centre

Water Pump Replacement

Failed water pump means no coolant circulation — engine overheats fast. We replace water pumps on all makes, including the electric water pumps on BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi that many workshops won't touch.

West Ryde Service Centre

Coolant Flush & Replacement

Old coolant becomes corrosive and stops protecting your engine. We flush the system, replace with manufacturer-spec coolant, and bleed air locks — critical for European alloy engines that are sensitive to wrong coolant chemistry.

West Ryde Service Centre

Thermostat Replacement

A stuck thermostat causes overheating or prevents the engine reaching operating temperature. We test, replace and refill — a relatively inexpensive fix that prevents expensive engine damage.

West Ryde Service Centre

Coolant Leak Diagnosis

Coolant disappearing with no visible puddle? We use UV dye testing to trace leaks to their source — water pump weep holes, heater core leaks, head gasket seepage. Find it before it finds you on the M2.

I recently took my RS3 to WRSC Performance to have an eventuri turbo elbow and intake installed, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Shunt and his team were professional, honest, and upfront from the start. They explained exactly what would be done, kept me informed throughout the process, and completed the work within the timeframe they promised. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding, and it’s clear they really know these cars inside and out. If you’re looking for true RS3 specialists who take pride in their work, WRSC Performance is the place to go. Thanks again to Shunt and the team, I highly recommend them!

Outstanding service. Very quick, professional and just all round above and beyond. Found from the minute I walked in I was welcomed and given the time of day. Got two cards checked for a pinkslip on short notice and they processed both extremely quickly during my lunch breaks. Wish I could rate higher!

As someone who works in the automotive industry myself and pays close attention to workmanship, service quality, and attention to detail, I can honestly say the team at West Ryde Service Centre (WRSC) have been exceptional. They’ve looked after both my G80 M3 and F95 X5M for servicing and tuning, and every experience has been professional from start to finish. Their communication, transparency, and genuine care for the cars really stand out. What I appreciate most is the attention to detail — not just mechanically, but in the overall customer experience as well. It’s rare to find a workshop that combines technical knowledge with such high standards of service and consistency. You can tell these guys are passionate about what they do, and they treat every vehicle with respect. It gives real peace of mind knowing the cars are in capable hands. Highly recommend WRSC to anyone looking for a trustworthy workshop that genuinely cares about quality.

step by step

Our Cooling System Service Process.

Overheating won't wait — book online or call ahead. Same-day diagnosis is usually available for cooling system issues.

We pressure-test the system to cap pressure, check for leaks, test the thermostat and water pump, and scan for fault codes on European vehicles.

You'll get a clear quote before any work starts — repair vs replacement, parts and labour. No surprises.

We fit quality parts — radiators, water pumps, thermostats and hoses — matched to your vehicle's specification, with manufacturer-spec coolant.

After repairs we refill with correct coolant, bleed all air locks, and re-pressure-test to confirm the system holds — no air pockets, no surprise overheating.

Before you drive away we road-test to confirm operating temperature is stable under load — backed by our lifetime workmanship guarantee.

The Right Cooling System Service for Every Make & Model

From daily drivers to European luxury vehicles, we service the cooling system your engine was designed for. Under Australian Consumer Law, you’re never required to use a dealership to keep your warranty valid — and correctly specified coolant and quality parts protect it.

// EUROPEAN COOLING SPECIALISTS

Driving an Audi, BMW, Mercedes or VW?
Your Cooling System Is More Complex Than You Think.

European cars use electric water pumps, alloy radiators, and specific coolant formulations (G12+, G13) that demand specialist knowledge. The wrong coolant corrodes alloy components from the inside out. Our European Car Servicing page covers the specialist diagnostics and expertise your vehicle needs.

Radiator & Cooling System FAQ

Overheating has several common causes: a failed thermostat stuck closed, a broken water pump, a cracked radiator, low coolant from a leak, a blocked radiator core, or a failed cooling fan. Don’t drive an overheating car — pull over safely and call us. Continuing to drive even a few kilometres can warp the cylinder head and destroy the engine.
Visible cracks, coolant pooling under the car, white crusty deposits on the radiator fins, or the temperature gauge climbing are all signs. We pressure-test first — if the leak is in a seam that can be repaired, we’ll repair it. If the core is corroded or multiple leaks are present, replacement is the safer option. We’ll always quote before any work goes ahead.
It depends on your vehicle: a standard radiator replacement typically starts from around $350–$500 including parts and labour. European vehicles with alloy radiators and electric water pumps cost more. You’ll always get an itemised quote before we fit anything, and the pressure test and diagnosis are included.
Yes. Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen specify particular coolant formulations (G12+, G13 and equivalents) that are designed for their alloy engine components. Using standard or incorrect coolant causes corrosion and scaling inside the engine and radiator — damage that develops over months and leads to expensive failures. We always use manufacturer-spec coolant.
Many modern European cars — particularly BMW and Mercedes-Benz — use electric water pumps instead of belt-driven ones. They’re controlled by the engine management system and can fail without warning, sometimes setting fault codes. Diagnosing them requires proper diagnostic equipment, not just visual inspection. We have the factory-level tools to test and replace them correctly.
Most manufacturers recommend every 4–5 years or 80,000–100,000km, whichever comes first. Old coolant loses its corrosion inhibitors and becomes acidic — it looks fine but is silently damaging your engine. If your coolant is brown, rusty, or more than four years old, book a flush. It’s one of the cheapest preventative services you can do.
Coolant can disappear internally through a leaking head gasket, externally through a slow weep from the water pump seal, or via a heater core leak behind the dashboard. We use UV dye testing to trace the exact source. Don’t ignore it — low coolant leads to overheating, and overheating leads to engine damage.
No. Under Australian Consumer Law, you’re never required to use a dealership for servicing or parts to keep your warranty valid — as long as the work is done properly with correctly specified parts and coolant, which is exactly what we do.
